This article focuses on a group of Jamaicans who have been given to opportunity to complete in a seasonal worker program. Although it is a very small group, it is likely that will help Canada even more, because thay where chosen from such a small group they will be more proud of their job. The 47 workers who are going for the first time hope to establish a spot in the coming years as reliable farm workers. Ferguson also stated that he wanted to start offering other oversea programs. Going forward, Jamaicans could rely more on other countries for income.
I think that this program will continue to grow and help the Jamaican economy. Also, I believe that the workers in Canada may return to Jamaica with Canadian customs they picked up. Though it is unlikely Jamaicans will start playing hockey. But if they do start mixing customs, they could possibly struggle to import items due to some high prices.
Jamaica's culture could take a serious turn if the farm worker program continues to grow. The more Jamaicans bringing back Canadian culture, the better the chance Jamaica begins to import items from Canada. The jamaicans culture could become acculturated and possibly even become assimilated.
